Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future:

A New Chapter for Grounded Path

We are honored to share that Grounded Path Holistic Counseling has entered a new chapter of growth and care. After many years of heartfelt service and community building by founder Shimila Keenum, LCSW, ownership of the practice has been thoughtfully and lovingly passed to Shiloh Martin, LPC.

This transition marks a continuation of the vision and values that Grounded Path was built upon: holistic, trauma-informed, person-centered care rooted in integrity, compassion, and connection.

Shiloh brings over a decade of experience in the mental health field and a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families in healing and transformation. Her approach aligns beautifully with the spirit of Grounded Path, and she steps into this new role with both reverence and excitement.

As Grounded Path continues to evolve, the heart of the practice remains unchanged - offering a safe, nurturing space for growth, healing, and reconnection. We are so grateful for the continued support of our community and look forward to all that lies ahead.

About Shiloh

Welcome to Grounded Path! I’m So Glad You’re Here.

My name is Shiloh Martin (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and board-approved LPC supervisor. I’ve spent the last 10 years walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges, heal from pain, and reconnect with their inner strength.

I was drawn to this work by a desire to support people in their wholeness, nurturing the body, mind, and spirit together. My experience spans in-home, community-based, and outpatient settings, always guided by compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique story.

I’ve also been involved in community efforts focused on recovery, substance use, and maternal and child health—areas that continue to shape my work and connect me to the broader wellness landscape.

Above all, I believe in the power of safe, supportive relationships to foster healing and growth. It’s an honor to carry forward the mission of Grounded Path and to offer a space where care is heartfelt, holistic, and rooted in integrity.

FAQs

  • Are you taking new clients?

Yes, I am accepting new clients on a limited basis. Availability depends on scheduling, so I encourage you to reach out to see if we’re a good fit. Please feel free to email me at Shiloh@GroundedPath.org to inquire about current openings.

  • Do you offer telehealth?

I offer both in-person and telehealth therapy options to accommodate the needs and preferences of my clients.

  • What is the length of the therapy session?

38-52 minutes is the standard pscyhotherapy session.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

The best way to get started is to email me at Shiloh@GroundedPath.org. I offer a brief consultation to explore your needs, answer any questions, and discuss current availability. From there, we can decide together if it feels like a good match.

  • Are you available for crisis services?

I provide therapy services based on an outpatient level of need.  Should your level of need increase and require a higher level care, I may recommend hospitalization or crisis stabilization services. Our local Community Service Board, Horizon Behavioral Health, provides crisis support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assess and assist in psychiatric emergencies. You may call 434-477-5000, or their after-hours emergency number 434-522-8191.  In the event you encounter a situation that exceeds your ability to cope you are asked to contact Horizon Behavioral Health Emergency Services or have a family member/friend contact 911 on your behalf or go to the nearest emergency room. Please see below for additional crisis resources.

  • Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your

    mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have

insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for

    medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of

any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a

Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you

can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith

    Estimate.
