Come learn, play, and experience tools that will support you in any relationship.  Come alone or with your partner – this workshop is about personal growth and what YOU bring to your relationship.   This 6 week workshop is both fun, enlightening, and packed with experiential activities designed to help you improve all relationships through an even deeper understanding and embodiment of Positive Discipline Principles. In this workshop you will learn:

  • How to take responsibility without guilt.
  • How to “be” the right person, instead of wanting your partner to “be” the right person.
  • What your Lifestyle Priority (Top Card) brings to your relationship.
  • How the beliefs formed in your early childhood enhance or challenge your relationship.
  • How to understand and speak your partner’s love language.
  • The Couple’s Dialogue Process: Why it is so difficult to really listen, and what to do about it.
  • How to listen beyond the words to what your partner really “means” and “needs”.
  • And many more Positive Discipline tools to bring fun and joy to your relationship.
Keeping the Joy in Relationships is a program developed by Jane Nelsen, ED.D and Mary Nelson Tamborski based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs. The Keeping the Joy in Relationships is based on Positive Discipline, which is aimed at developing mutually respectful relationships.

Brian and Shimila met in 2010 and we brought all of our past experiences of heart break, relationship challenges, previous marriages with us as we blended our families together. Using Positive Discipline tools we felt supported as parents to provide our family the tools to ensure the needs of belonging and significance were met and lo and behold we have raised quite capable, resourceful young people! We now have two children in college and one engaged to be married! As we explore this new empty nest, Brian and I find ourselves applying these same timeless tools to our relationship and are experiencing a deepening of connection and love. We cannot wait to share with you the same tools that have supported deeper inroads to each other's hearts.

Brian and Shimila have completed Keeping the Joy in Relationships Facilitator Training. Shimila is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and Certified Keeping the Joy in Relationships Facilitator.
